Loop Student Living Initiative
The Loop Student Living Initiative is a proposed mixed-use development comprised of three residential apartment buildings on Enright Avenue and two mixed-use buildings featuring ground-floor retail with residential apartments on the upper floor, fronting on Delmar Boulevard. When complete, the project will include retail space on Delmar, 240-265 apartments that will house 550-600 occupants and underground parking for residents.
Building new student apartments in the Parkview Gardens neighborhood and on the Delmar Loop enables Washington University in St. Louis to offer additional housing options to its junior and senior student population.
The Delmar Loop is a six-block enclave of entertainment, culture, dining and shopping in St. Louis and University City. Powered by the energy and excitement of ten live music stages, arts venues, galleries, eateries and a distinctive collection of local and national retailers, the American Planning Association designated it “One of the 10 Great Streets in America.”
This project is an $80 million investment that will provide significant benefits to both University City and the City of St. Louis. It will support and enhance the Delmar Loop by providing approximately 22,000 sq. ft. of new retail space, filling a significant gap in the existing retail corridor.
